NFL Draft: Redrafting the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft 27. Kenny Clark
Originally selected 27th overall (no movement)
The Green Bay Packers are a rare case of a team that got it right the first time around. In 2016, the Packers selected Kenny Clark with the 27th overall pick in the draft. This would pay off for them, big time.
Clark was a defensive tackle out of UCLA who was highly-regarded entering the draft. Green Bay would pick him up accordingly. In this redraft scenario, things won’t go any differently for the Wisconsin-based team, as they’ll make the same strong choice that they made before.
That said, he didn’t have a red-hot start to his career, putting up modest numbers in his first season in the big leagues. His presence would begin to show up in his sophomore campaign though, with two forced fumbles, 4.5 sacks, and 55 tackles on the year.
While he ended up having a relatively low ceiling as a player, he has steadily improved and added a handful of moves to his arsenal. He would show these off en route to a 2019 Pro Bowl season.
He is now a key contributor for the Green Bay Packers and a vitally important part of their defensive line. Expect more Pro Bowl appearances from Clark, who isn’t even close to being done in this league yet.
