NFL Draft: Redrafting the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft 3. Joey Bosa

Originally selected 3rd overall (no movement)

The other team from Los Angeles on this list is the Chargers. Unlike their counterpart in the Rams, they would not regret their third-overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft.
In fact, the argument could even be made that in a redraft scenario, LA would have to trade up to make sure that they could secure their current player in Joey Bosa. He’s has been everything he was hyped up to be.

After winning the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year, he would only improve, seeing three Pro Bowl appearances. He would only miss out in 2018, a year that would have him sidelined for a decent chunk of the season.

In this scenario, the Chargers stick with their man. In July of 2020, the Chargers signed Bosa to a 5-year, $135 million contract extension, making him the highest-paid defensive player in the league at the time.

It’s clear that they’re happy with their pick in the 2016 NFL Draft and Bosa will continue to have one of the most successful careers of any player taken in that year’s draft.
