2021 NFL Draft: Day 2 mock draft after the first round
By Randy Gurzi
41. Detroit Lions: Terrace Marshall, Jr., WR, LSU
The Detroit Lions could use some wide receiver help after they lost Kenny Golladay and Marvin Jones, Jr. in free agency this offseason. They were expected to do so in the first but when Penei Sewell fell to them, they elected to wait and that pays off with Terrace Marshall, Jr. still available.
42. New York Giants: Liam Eichenberg, OT, Notre Dame
For whatever reason, the New York Giants have been awful when it comes to addressing their offensive line. They have put a lot of capital into the position but still need help. They continue to try here as they take Notre Dame’s Liam Eichenberg.
43. San Francisco 49ers: Tyson Campbell, CB, Georgia
Eric Stokes made it into the first round mostly because he blew people away with his workouts. However, his teammate Tyson Campbell is arguably the better player. The 49ers are willing to give him a spot on their roster to prove as much.
44. Dallas Cowboys: Jevon Holland, S, Oregon
Yes, Micah Parsons is good but the Dallas Cowboys didn’t address any of their major needs by drafting him. The good news is, they can still find some talented players in the coming rounds — such as Jevon Holland from Oregon.
45. Jacksonville Jaguars (via Minnesota Vikings): Pat Freiermuth, TE, Penn State
The plan is simple in Jacksonville — get help for Trevor Lawrence. Pat Freiermuth offers a huge target provided he can beat out Tim Tebow for the tight end job.
46. New England Patriots: Rondale Moore, WR, Purdue
New England continues to load up offensive talent with Rondale Moore — a big play waiting to happen.
47. Los Angeles Chargers: Nick Bolton, LB, Missouri
Missouri linebacker Nick Bolton is a stud but is undersized for the position. That won’t bother the Chargers one bit as they get a great player here.
48. Las Vegas Raiders: Christian Barmore, DT, Alabama
Las Vegas takes another player from Alabama and no one is shocked. The good news is, this one is a solid value selection.
