NFL Draft 2021: Carolina Panthers pick Jaycee Horn, compares to Champ Bailey

There are simply too many offensive weapons in the league today for defenses not to be worried. Yet, no matter how many times the rules are bended in their favor, the defensive side of the ball will always play a major factor when it comes to determining who will hoist the Lombardi trophy at the end of the year.

To help the Panthers take a huge step toward that will be newly added cornerback Jaycee Horn. The skills displayed while staring at South Carolina at eerily similar to Hall of Fame corner Champ Bailey. While social distancing has become the norm in today’s day and age, none of that will be allowed by Horn. He oftentimes took the best receiver on the other side of the field and held them in check.

The difference between the two in the coverage department, is that Horn is more likely to bat the ball down while Bailey was more known for picking the ball off. With that said, Horn began turning a corner in that department, registering two picks in his final year on campus. Both guys are exceptional tacklers and track the ball well in the air. Horn is slightly lacking in the speed department when compared to his legendary counterpart,  checking in at 4.37 in the 40 yard dash as opposed to Bailey’s 4.28.

But still, Horn is fast, physical, smart and the prototypical corner in today’s day and age.
