Tennessee Titans 2021 NFL Draft Grades: Rounds 3-4, Picks 92, 100, 109

Round 3 (No. 92, via Green Bay): LB Monty Rice, Georgia: C

This isn’t a reflection on Monty Rice’s ability as a player; it’s just that the Titans seem set at linebacker for the time being. Rice will be a solid depth guy and special teams contributor, but they could have found a guy with that kind of value in the later rounds.

Perhaps they view him as a future starter, in which case, that makes the pick more understandable. That said, they could have gone with a receiver here to make up for the loss of Corey Davis.

Round 3 (No. 100): CB Elijah Molden, Washington: B+

Kudos to the Titans for realizing they had a problem at cornerback heading into the draft. Molden is a guy who can play in the slot and be their go-to nickel cornerback.

He’s very athletic and a solid run defender from the slot. He gets a lot of praise for his instincts and his football IQ and will be a fine addition to the Titans secondary, which will look brand new in 2021.

Round 4 (No. 109): WR Dez Fitzpatrick, Louisville: C

Dez Fitzpatrick is a guy that Tennessee probably could have snagged in the fifth or sixth round. They selected him when guys like Amon-Ra St. Brown and Tylan Wallace were still on the board, both of whom I would say are better than Fitzpatrick.

That said, Fitzpatrick is a solid receiver. He’s physical, a good route runner and he possesses good ball skills. He’ll get his touches this season after the loss of both Corey Davis and Adam Humphries.
