59. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. LB. Auburn. Owen Pappoe. 21. player

21. Miami Dolphins (via San Francisco 49ers): Owen Pappoe, LB, Auburn

It’s apparent that things have changed for the better with the Miami Dolphins. Brian Flores has proven to be the right coach and Chris Grier is doing great things as the general manager. With two picks in the 2021 NFL Draft, Miami added Jaylen Waddle, Jaelan Phillips, Jevon Holland, and Liam Eichenberg. All of these players have the talent to be a starter for them as they keep bringing in quality players.

Now in the 2022 NFL Draft, they’re on the clock with the pick they landed from the 49ers (although they did trade their own to Philly) and they use that to land a complete athletic freak in Auburn’s Owen Pappoe. He’s a hybrid player at 6-1 and 222 pounds and had 93 tackles, four sacks, and a pick last season. He should continue to be an impact player at the next level as well and Flores is the perfect coach to get the most out of his insane talent.

Alabama. John Metchie. 22. player. 50. Pick Analysis. WR. Scouting Report

22. Detroit Lions (via Los Angeles Rams): John Metchie, WR, Alabama

There were plenty of people praising the Detroit Lions’ work in the 2021 NFL Draft — and for good reason. They landed great value at nearly every pick but they did avoid one major need — wide receiver.

After landing Sam Howell early in this mock, they now get a new No. 1 wide receiver for him to target in John Metchie. With Jaylen Waddle and DeVonta Smith turning pro, he’s next in line at Bama and after posting 916 yards as a sophomore, he’s poised for a breakout and that could lead to him being a first-round pick.
