The Dallas Cowboys may not have gotten much love for their work in the 2021 NFL Draft but did they at least hit with any of their undrafted free agents?

Things started out odd and only got worse for the Dallas Cowboys in the 2021 NFL Draft.

First, they lost both their presumed top targets as Jaycee Horn and Patrick Surtain went at No. 8 and No. 9 respectively. With that happening, Dallas decided to drop back and rather than taking a deal like the one the New York Giants got at No. 11 (a first-round pick from Chicago to drop to No. 20), Dallas decided to drop two spaces for a third.

Sure, they stayed close as they picked 12th but they could have landed even more talent in the following draft. What’s worse, they traded with an in-division rival as they allowed the Philadelphia Eagles to get DeVonta Smith.

Things only got worse as they then began to make several questionable picks which were nearly all considered reaches. And, they (again) really ignored the safety position (and will wonder again in 2021 why they can’t stop the pass to save their lives).

Now, we try and move on — at least until our next collective fanbase therapy session — and look at the incoming class of undrafted free agents. Here, we identify three UDFAs who could make the roster in 2021.

3. Braylon Jones, IOL, Houston

Dallas added Matt Farniok late in the draft from Nebraska but other than that seventh-round pick, they haven’t done anything to beef up the interior of their line. With it looking like Joe Looney could be out, that means Tyler Biadasz and Connor McGovern will likely fight for the role of center with the loser of the battle serving as the primary interior swing guard/center.

Besides those two, there’s not much depth to speak of, so Farniok has a real chance to make the team. But the same goes for Houston’s Braylon Jones who has played both guard and center.

Neither player was highly regarded entering the draft but they’re in a good spot for trying to make an NFL roster as a reserve.
