NFL: Creating the all-time roster with football’s legends: CB, Deion Sanders

So far, the all-time roster is compiled with hard-hitting players on the defensive side of the ball. Guys such as Richard “Night Train” Lane and Bruce Smith never cracked a smile, they were all business.

While there’s no doubt that every player on the not-so-glamorous side of the ball will dominate, it’s about time we added a bit of sizzle to the lineup. To provide that, we’ll be taking quite possibly the most colorful player in the history of the game in cornerback Deion Sanders.

Whether he was in Atlanta, Baltimore, or in Dallas, Sanders brought with him a smile that could light up a room. The sunglasses and huge gold chain were also a part of his personality and of course, his bravado. With that said, just because Sanders was a colorful character off the field, doesn’t mean he wasn’t a monster on it. Sanders took care of business every Sunday. Opposing wide receivers would quickly realize that his infectious smile wasn’t indicative of his play. Sanders was ruthless on the field, laying players out of snagging the ball out of the air to run it back for a pick-six.

There is no doubt that Sanders deserves a spot on this roster. With his tendency to have all eyes on him, this team could use a bit of swag to go along with its dominant ways.
