NFL: Creating the all-time roster with football’s legends: LB, Ray Lewis

Career stats:

  • 2,059 combined tackles
  • 41.5 sacks

Accolades:

  • 2 time Super Bowl Champ
  • 13 time Pro Bowler
  • 7 time All-Pro
  • 2 time Defensive Player of the Year

The defense is just about set. Michael Strahan is ready to terrorize QBs all night long, Lawrence Taylor will be all over the field, our shutdown corners in Richard “Night Train” Lane and Deion Sanders, won’t allow a single pass to be completed and everyone will simply play at a high level.

With that said, we are currently without a leader on the defensive side of the ball. For that, we’ll call upon arguably the greatest leader ever in Ray Lewis. For roughly 20 years, Lewis danced and strutted his way onto the field. He would gather his troops in Baltimore and make sure they were ready for battle. No matter the circumstances, they were prepared.

Lewis wasn’t simply great at motivating the defensive players around him, he also led by actions as well. During his playing career, Lewis hung up his cleats as the all-time leader in solo tackles with 1,568 and combined tackles with 2,059. He was a two-time Super Bowl winner and a Defensive Player of the Year. There is absolutely no one more capable of leading this team like Ray Lewis.
