NFL: Creating the all-time roster with football’s legends: OT, Willie Roaf

Career stats:

  • N/A

Accolades:

  • 11 time Pro Bowler
  • 4 time All-Pro

The offensive firepower on this team looks flat-out ridiculous. The number of points they’ll be able to put up will break scoreboards all across the league. The famed “Greatest show on turf” which featured Hall of Famers Kurt Warner, Marshall Faulk, Orlando Pace and Isaac Bruce would look like a flag football team in comparison.

But while the offensive numbers are going to be undoubtedly outrageous, they would ultimately be rendered obsolete if they don’t have get some major help on the offensive line. So, to kick off things on the most important unit on the team will be Hall of Famer Willie Roaf.

For years Roaf kept his quarterback down in New Orleans upright. With 11 Pro Bowl appearances, including seven straight at one point, Roaf is the perfect man to keep Tom Brady on his feet. During his career, which spanned a dozen years, Roaf was selected to four First Team All-Pros. Even the most devastating of pass rushers couldn’t bully Roaf around.

While he never hoisted the Lombardi Trophy, Roaf was one of the best offensive tackles in the league for over a decade. There was simply no way to keep him off this team.
