3. Los Angeles Chargers

The emergence of Justin Herbert during his rookie season with the Los Angeles Chargers was one of the most exciting storylines of the 2020 campaign while also being one of the most shocking.

Coming into and out of the draft, the general belief appeared to be that, while Herbert was blessed with immense physical gifts, he was not seen as a finished product by any stretch of the imagination. In fact, most analysts believed that both Joe Burrow and Tua Tagovailoa were much more well-equipped to come into the NFL and play well. Yet, Herbert was the unquestioned star of that trio in year one.

When you look at the wide receiver depth chart, there are two obvious names that jump off the page with Keenan Allen, a proven star in his own right, and former first-round pick Mike Williams. However, the health and future of Williams in LA have been question marks for a bit now. And on top that, the proven depth beyond those two players is lacking.

Los Angeles made it supremely clear this offseason that they are fully invested in Herbert and helping him, specifically with how they addressed holes on the offensive line. Trading for Julio Jones would only further that and put them firmly in a win-now window with a veteran star duo at wide receiver paired with a young up-and-coming quarterback.
