Where does Malik Willis stand with the 2022 NFL Draft in the distance?

Is there a talented and solid foundation to work with when discussing Malik Willis? Absolutely. IS he refined, accurate, or polished enough to be getting the top-10, and sometimes even first overall hype, he is receiving at this point? Put a pin in that conversation.

The good news for Willis, however, is that he has another full season to improve his accuracy, refine his drops, and discipline himself to remain in a clean pocket when he has one. More good news for Willis: NFL teams have been highly favorable to big-armed quarterbacks who have proven capable to make plays outside of structure when the play breaks down.

Willis has both of these traits in his arsenal.

At this point in the process, Willis is viewed in a similar tier as Davis Mills of Stanford and Kellen Mond of Texas A&M were this past April. Both Mond and Mills missed out on being in that first tier of quarterbacks but came off the board early in the third round of the 2021 NFL Draft.

Another area that will bode well for Willis as well: this 2022 crop of quarterbacks is nowhere near as talented as the 2021 class was. This could also allow for Willis to rise up the boards in 2021 as he takes the field for one final season with the Flames.

While Willis has the necessary talent, he must use his redshirt senior season to take his game to yet another level in order to meet the hype he is already surrounded with.
