The NFL 2021 calendar is quickly approaching training camp, which is when we often see surprise cuts. Here is one candidate from each of the 32 teams to be that unexpected cut ahead of the regular season.

With the 2021 NFL Draft behind us, as well as the majority of the free agency moves, all 32 NFL teams are now focused on the next part of the calendar — which includes their camps in preparation for the regular season.

Once those are underway, we always see young players coming in and making a move for a roster spot. That eventually leads to veterans, who are often much more expensive against the salary cap, losing their jobs.

Here we look ahead to the remainder of the offseason and identify one player from all 32 NFL teams who could become a surprise casualty for their club.

Arizona Cardinals: Andy Isabella, Wide Receiver

It wasn’t that long ago that Andy Isabella was a second-round pick for the Arizona Cardinals with unlimited potential. An incredible deep threat while at Massachusettes, the 5-foot-9 Isabella has yet to catch on with the Cards.

As a rookie, he had just nine receptions for 189 yards, and then in his second campaign, he improved but still had only 21 receptions for 224 yards. He also saw his yards per catch dip from 21 as a rookie to 10.7 last season.

Part of the problem for Isabella is how crowded the receiver room is for the Cardinals. They already had Christian Kirk and brought in KeeSean Johnson the same year as Isabella. Then they traded for DeAndre Hopkins in 2020 and now added A.J. Green and Rondale Moore this season.

Unless something major happens for him, Isabella could be on the chopping block with several other players who have been more impactful than he has to this point.
