Jacksonville Jaguars: Tim Tebow, Tight End

Sure, he has the No. 1 selling jersey right now but there’s no way the Jacksonville Jaguars can actually think a 33-year-old who has never played tight end can suddenly come into the NFL — after nearly a decade away from the game — and play tight end.

Yes, his fans will argue that such a take is preposterous because Tim Tebow will outwork everyone and become successful. That’s the belief, right? He works so much harder than anyone, which is why he didn’t make it with the Denver Broncos, New York Jets, New England Patriots, or Philadelphia Eagles at the position he played his whole life.

That’s also the reason he never made it into the major leagues as he spent the past several years in the New York Mets farm system. Look, no one is trying to bash Tebow for chasing his dreams but the belief that he can just suddenly switch positions and find success is outrageous. Every player works hard in the NFL and there are those who have been playing tight end for decades that can’t make it. Acting like they failed because they don’t work as hard as Tebow is downright insulting.

Even more outrageous is this claim that he brings unbelievable leadership to the team and that’s why he’s going to make it — I mean, who doesn’t want the fourth-string tight end to be the leader when you just took Trevor Lawrence first overall.

In all honesty, this feels like Urban Meyer trying to give his old quarterback another shot at the NFL and it won’t end with Tebow lighting up the scoreboards like Gronk in his prime.
