New York Jets: Jamison Crowder, Wide Receiver
The New York Jets made one of the best coaching hires of the offseason when they brought in Robert Saleh. The former San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator will likely get that side of the ball working the way it should, especially after landing a new star pass rusher in Carl Lawson and defensive tackle Sheldon Rankins.
As for the offense, they’re turning things over to Zach Wilson — who is hopefully better at handling the New York media than his mother has been as of late. There’s a lot to like about Wilson but he did arrive at the draft in Cleveland riding in the back of his parent’s minivan so that’s a bit of a weird one.
Moving on from Wilson, the Jets also added some wide receiver help in the draft and free agency. Corey Davis was signed away from the Tennessee Titans and Elijah Moore was an early day two pick. Throw Denzel Mims into the mix and it seems as though a player such as Jamison Crowder could be on the outside looking in.
Crowder has been an underrated player but he’s also been someone who racked up stats as the best player on a terrible offense. With them changing course, he may no longer be worth the $11.4 million he’s due this season — and the majority of that could be recouped if he were released.
