Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Cameron Brate, Tight End

When the Tampa Bay Buccaneers won the Super Bowl following the 2020 campaign, they also set history. For the first time ever, a team played the game in their own stadium and they were able to win it there as well.

The Super Bowl is designed to be played on a neutral site but the Bucs were able to secure their home field game, after spending the entire playoffs on the road.

After the game, they got to work re-signing their star players. Wide receivers Chris Godwin and Antonio Brown, tight end Rob Gronkowski, edge rusher Shaq Barrett, and defensive lineman Ndamukong Suh will all return.

So with those guys back, all 22 starters from last season will be on the field for the Bucs in 2021. They’ll also get one of their best players back as O.J. Howard is set to return after finishing the season early due to an injury.

His return to the field could make Cameron Brate expendable. Right now, Brate is the third tight end and he’s set to make just under $2 million this year. It’s not a terrible salary but he does make more than most No. 3 tight ends, which could be his undoing.
