Washington Redskins: Ereck Flowers, Guard
Yes, the Washington Football Team just got Ereck Flowers back but there’s still no guarantee that he’s going to make the final roster. Right now, Washington is set at one guard spot with Wes Schweitzer coming into his own last season.
A former sixth-round pick of the Atlanta Falcons, Schweitzer is set to make close to $5 million this season after proving himself for Washington last season. Across from him is Brandon Scherff who is the best lineman on the team.
Washington already made a big move on the offensive line when they released Morgan Moses. That move was a bit of a surprise but maybe it shouldn’t have been after they drafted Samuel Cosmi and signed Charles Leno, Jr.
Washington won the NFC East last season despite having a record of just 7-9. They ended up losing in the first round of the playoffs but have high hopes for this coming season. Part of that will rely on the offensive line, so another cut there might not make sense.
Even so, Flowers has struggled to stick with a team. He spent just one season with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Washington Football Team, and Miami Dolphins. Now back with Washington, he might not be there long-term again.
