One surprise cut candidate from each NFL team in 2021

Carolina Panthers: A.J. Bouye, Cornerback
There was a time that A.J. Bouye was one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL. He started his career with the Houston Texans after going undrafted in 2013 out of UCF. By his second season, he was a regular contributor on a very talented defense and his reputation only grew from there.
By 2017, he was a free agent and a divisional rival went out of the way to make sure to land him. The Jacksonville Jaguars rewarded Bouye with a five-year contract worth $67.5 million. He then helped them make their way to the AFC Championship Game that season on the strength of their defense.
After three seasons, the Jaguars ended up trading him to the Denver Broncos which is where he spent the 2020 season. His play had declined for the second season in a row and then things got really bad for him when he was suspended for six games in December. He was then cut in the offseason after playing just seven games for the Broncos.
Bouye then signed with the Carolina Panthers but he has a long road ahead of him to make the team — and has two games left to serve on his suspension. In the end, that could lead to him being released especially after Carolina landed Jaycee Horn who will join Donte Jackson and Tony Pride.
