2. Dallas Cowboys

Considering that there was a sect of fans and analysts last year that panned the Dallas Cowboys for using their 20202 first-round pick on wide receiver CeeDee Lamb instead of a defensive player, it might be safe to say that some would be less than thrilled about Jerry Jones going after a player like Julio Jones in a trade.

But even though Jones dismissed the Cowboys as an option during his now-infamous on-air phone call with Shannon Sharpe, it’s a move that would actually make sense. That, of course, starts with Jones and the Dallas front office always being enamored with big-ticket items. However, it does go beyond that.

For starters, this is a team where too much firepower might actually be just enough with how bad their defense could be if Dan Quinn doesn’t inspire a substantial upswing. Thus, having a murderer’s row of Jones, Amari Cooper, Lamb and Michael Gallup could provide the offensive onslaught actually needed to win.

More than that, though, Gallup’s rookie contract is up after this season. For the offense to remain a constant strength with Dak Prescott, upgrading from him to Jones would make sense. Moreover, it might give Dallas a trade chip to send back to Atlanta. And seeing how the Cowboys can simply restructure a few contracts to get where they need to financially, this should at least be considered.
