From Super Bowls to contenders to award winners and much more, NFL future week wraps up with 19 predictions about the league in five years.

The final article in my NFL “Future Week” exercise is here after three previous ventures five years ahead. The theme remains the same: make myself look like a fool five years from now.

As I’ve said a few times by now, I’ll consider this week a success if I just hit on a couple of predictions out of the 19 that you’re about to be hit with. I cover everything from MVPs to head coaches to broadcasts to uniforms. A disclaimer: Only a few of these are meant to be bold predictions. You’ll know which ones.

Before we get into the final predictions of NFL “Future Week”, be sure to catch up on the rest of my content from the week.

Now, it’s time for the wide-ranging, all-encompassing predictions for five years in the future.

1. Trey Lance will win NFL MVP

Let’s start with a bold prediction! I originally had that Patrick Mahomes would win MVP but that seemed a bit too obvious. Why not swing for the fences a little more?

I actually had this prediction in my award forecasts from yesterday. Lance is a good player in a good situation. He’s surrounded by one of the best supporting casts a rookie quarterback could have. George Kittle, Deebo Samuel and Brandon Aiyuk comprise one heck of an arsenal but more on that coming soon.

I’m also high on the marriage between Lance and head coach Kyle Shanahan. I even think Lance could have a better career than Trevor Lawrence, though we may not know that answer five years from now.
