18. The NFL will have changed its one-helmet rule

I know this isn’t at the forefront of most people’s minds, but this I’ve been clamoring for this since 2013. I’m sure you remember those beautiful throwback uniforms like the Bucs’ creamsicles or the Eagles’ Kelly Greens.

Well, in 2013, the NFL quietly passed a rule that bans NFL teams from using more than one helmet color and/or type. They said it helped with player safety because newer helmets aren’t as safe as more beat-up ones.

There’s already been speculation the NFL will overturn this soon, which could not only return us to the glory days of NFL aesthetics, but it could help drive up some revenue as well. Maybe we’d start to see more incorporation of alternate uniforms, not unlike the NBA’s revolving City Edition uniforms.

19. Broncos, Cardinals and Texans will have new uniforms

12 teams have changed or altered their uniform in the last five years. It’s about time the Broncos, Cardinals and Texans followed suit. All three teams haven’t undergone a makeover in quite some time. The Cardinals introduced their current look in 2005 and the Texans have used the same one since their creation in 2002. Meanwhile, the Broncos have been rocking the same look since 1997. Somebody, please get these teams a facelift.

I can see Denver going back to their famous look of the John Elway days, whereas Arizona will likely do something about their inconsistent uniform templates. As for Houston, well, sometimes teams change their look as a symbol for better times ahead. Considering the current state of the roster, they may need one sooner rather than later.
