Cowboys land Sevyn Banks in 2022 NFL Mock Draft. College Football Playoff Ohio State Faces Clemson In Sugar Bowl /

19. Dallas Cowboys: Sevyn Banks, CB, Ohio State

Three Ohio State players in a row as the Buckeyes look to have another talented class. As the Dallas Cowboys come on the clock, they still are in need of adding another cornerback to the top of their depth chart after missing out on Patrick Surtain II and Jaycee Horn this past April. With the 19th pick here in this 2022 NFL Mock Draft, the Cowboys land Sevyn Banks to finally get that elusive cornerback.

Does Banks lack experience and a bit of refinement? Absolutely. However, his oily hips and extraordinary tools will make him a highly coveted prospect by the time the 2022 NFL Draft rolls around. Teams love to take those tools and craft them into an elite cornerback, and here the Cowboys look to do just that with Banks.

20. Philadelphia Eagles (via MIA): George Karlaftis, EDGE, Purdue

Pass rushers galore as Purdue’s George Karlaftis becomes the latest one to see their name appear in the first round of this mock draft. As the Eagles come back on the clock, they will actively need to get younger along their defensive front. Not only this, but Derek Barnett has not exactly lived up to the billing either. First they get their quarterback, now they look to get after opposing quarterbacks.

A year ago as a sophomore, Karlaftis appeared in only two games. However, in those two games he managed to rack up two sacks and two tackles behind the line of scrimmage. Add this onto the seven and a half sacks and 17.5 tackles for loss as a freshman, and it becomes wildly apparent how dominant Karlaftis has been during his time with the Boilermakers. He’s a name to watch closely in 2021.
