23. New York Jets (via SEA): Myjai Sanders, EDGE, Cincinnati

The first Cincinnati player off the board here is not Desmond Ridder nor Sauce Gardner. Instead, it is pass rusher Myjai Sanders who is the only Bearcat to come off the board here in the first round. After the Jets passed up on an edge rusher in the 2021 NFL Draft, they use their second first rounder here to make amends to their defensive front.

As the Jets landed Carl Lawson in free agency, they opted to pass on another edge defender in the 2021 NFL Draft. There is still a hole opposite Lawson, and a hole they look to fill with the 6-foot-5 and 248 pounder here.

24. New Orleans Saints: Matt Corral, QB, Ole Miss

Will Jameis Winston solidify himself as the starting quarterback of the future for the New Orleans Saints? If they are picking 24th, then there is a good chance he has. However, we have seen quarterbacks like the aging Ben Roethlisberger this past season, and Jimmy Garoppolo run their teams to the playoffs despite their woes. The Saints look towards the future here, landing Ole Miss quarterback Matt Corral in this 2022 NFL Mock Draft.

Corral is one of the most interesting quarterbacks in the nation. His talent is undeniable, possessing great accuracy, arm talent, and mobility. However, a year ago, he suffered through stretches of absolute failures in judgment. If he can curb these lapses and take the next leap, Corral could see a leap even higher than the 24th overall pick in the draft.
