2022 NFL Mock Draft: Spencer Rattler goes 1, Broncos land new QB
By Cory Kinnan
27. Baltimore Ravens: Tyler Linderbaum, C, Iowa
The Baltimore Ravens opted not to take one of the top centers in the 2021 NFL Draft in the form of Creed Humphrey, Josh Myers, Landon Dickerson, or Kendrick Green. Instead, they make it their top priority here in this 2022 NFL Mock Draft as they land the next dominant offensive lineman to come out of the University of Iowa.
Tyler Linderbaum put together a splendidly dominant season with the Hawkeyes a year ago, making him one of the very best returning interior offensive linemen to return to the college level in 2021. As the Ravens continue to overhaul the interior of their offensive line, landing Linderbaum gives Lamar Jackson a reason to sleep safely and restfully at night.
28. Detroit Lions: Ainius Smith, WR, Texas A&M
If you loved Rondale Moore, Elijah Moore, and Kadarius Toney a year ago, then keep a close eye on Texas A&M’s Ainius Smith as that offense has some extreme firepower. He can line up in the slot, in the backfield, and even produce solid reps on the line of scrimmage and outside the numbers as well. A sharp route runner and a sudden athlete, Smith has the makings to be this year’s favorite chess piece.
As the Lions come back on the clock after the trade of Matthew Stafford to the Los Angeles Rams, they are in desperate need of playmakers at the wide receiver position. As Breshad Perriman is currently the best wide receiver on the roster, look for the position to be a massive priority moving forward. Here they land a threat to take it the distance every time in the form of Smith.
