2. Amari Cooper, Dallas Cowboys

Last season, the Dallas Cowboys agreed to a five-year, $100 million contract with wide receiver Amari Cooper. This came just a year and a half after they traded a first-round pick to acquire him halfway through the 2019 season.

Cooper instantly upgraded the offense as he had 725 yards and six touchdowns in nine games and then in 2019, he had 79 receptions for 1,189 yards and eight touchdowns. He still performed well in 2020 but with Dak Prescott out for the majority of the season, he finished with just 1,114 yards and five touchdowns but did have a career-high 92 receptions.

Heading into 2021, Cooper should still be the No. 1 target in Dallas but there’s no guarantee that he will finish out his contract. This is because the Cowboys have two other star wideouts including Micheal Gallup — who will be a free agent after this season — and CeeDee Lamb who recorded 935 yards and five touchdowns as a rookie last season.

Should Lamb continue to develop as a No. 1 threat, there’s a chance the Cowboys could elect to try and unload Cooper to save some money and be able to lock up Gallup instead —‚ who could be a cheaper, not to mention, younger option. Whichever route they go, the Cowboys will most likely not have all three of their wideouts beyond this season. It’s just a matter of who they prioritize keeping.
