31. Jalen Hurts, Philadelphia Eagles

When the Philadelphia Eagles decided to bench Carson Wentz in favor of Jalen Hurts, it provided a bit of a spark for their team. His ability to run helped make up for a lack of receiving options and his leadership was on full display.

Heading into 2021, the Eagles are going to turn the keys over to him full-time. They also got him a new weapon in DeVonta Smith, who was once a teammate of his back at Alabama.

The problem is, Smith will be learning a new system as the Eagles decided to move on from Dough Pederson and they brought in Nick Sirianni who was the offensive coordinator under Frank Reich. And Reich, of course, was the former offensive coordinator in Philly when Doug Pederson looked like a genius and they won the Super Bowl.

Just to complete the whole circle of life thing, the Eagles also sent Carson Wentz to Indy where he will re-join Reich, and now Hurts will work under Sirianni who has been learning under Reich. If you’re not confused yet, just wait because these two teams could continue to swap players and coaches — and maybe even more than that.

In the end, Hurts will have to prove he can get it done as a full-time starter and so far he has just a 1-3 record for the Eagles and he seems to be a long way from turning into a franchise-caliber player. He may prove us all wrong but right now, Hurts looks like a stop gap more than the answer in Philadelphia.
