30. Daniel Jones, New York Giants

Is Daniel Jones the answer for the New York Giants? That’s the question this team has to answer this coming season as their first-round pick from 2019 enters his third season as a pro and has yet to really assert himself in the league.

He did improve his win total in year two, going 5-9 as a starter compared to 3-9 as a rookie, but his numbers all went down. Jones went from 3,027 yards with 24 touchdowns and 12 picks in 2019 to 2,943 yards with just 11 touchdowns and 10 picks last season. He did improve from 279 yards and two touchdowns running to 423 yards with another touchdown — although he should have had two if not for his most infamous play of 2020.

To be fair to Jones, the Giants offensive weapons were a mess last season. Golden Tate took a step backward and that left them without a real No. 1 threat out wide. They also lost running back Saquon Barkley early in the season to a torn ACL which meant teams could ignore the run game and focus on shutting down Jones.

This year will be huge for him since New York added Kenny Golladay, Kadarius Toney, Kyle Rudolph, and John Ross in the offseason. If he can’t succeed with these weapons, it could be time for New York to look elsewhere.
