1. Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs

Tom Brady is still the best to ever play the game and Aaron Rodgers recently won his third NFL MVP Award after a superb season. As great as those two are, there’s still one quarterback who has been playing at a higher level than them, Patrick Mahomes.

Entering his fifth season in the NFL, Mahomes has known nothing but insane success in the NFL. He spent his rookie season on the bench watching Alex Smith lead the Kansas City Chiefs to the playoffs before taking over in 2018 as the full-time starter.

All he did that year was throw for 5,097 yards with 50 touchdown passes. Naturally, he won the NFL MVP award but missed out on the Super Bowl as he and the Chiefs lost to Tom Brady and the Patriots in overtime — when Kansas City was unable to even get the ball.

He followed that up with another huge season in 2019 and did end up leading the Chiefs to a ring before again suffering at the hands of Brady. Kansas City was on the losing end of the latest Super Bowl when the Bucs won 31-9.

The good news for Mahomes is that the front office realized just how much he was doing on his own which led to some much-needed additions to their offensive line. With that unit in front of him upgraded and ready to protect him better, look for Mahomes to once again remind us all why he signed an unreal $500 million contract with the Chiefs.
