Early NFL Over/Under Win Total Predictions: AFC West

Denver Broncos, 9.0 wins: Over

Teddy Bridgewater is a clear upgrade over Drew Lock, which is a big step in the right direction. And if we’re projecting that Rodgers stays with the Packers, that means Teddy Two Gloves is the man in Denver.

While Bridgewater is far from a superstar, he brings a level of steadiness and consistency to a talent-laden offense that was lacking with Lock at the helm. But Vic Fangio should be working with the best defense he’s had yet with the Broncos, which means this is a complete team that, even if they miss the playoffs, should be able to get to 10 wins.

Kansas City Chiefs, 12.0 wins: Over

It’s rare that you see a team that has made it to back-to-back Super Bowls and that won one of those games completely overhaul a position group as critical as the offensive line but the Chiefs clearly prioritized that after Patrick Mahomes spent the Big Game running for his life in February.

Now the line is far more talented than it’s been in quite some time and we all know what Mahomes, Tyreek Hill, and Travis Kelce are capable of. Frankly, the Chiefs are still the Chiefs, and that likely means Kansas City is ready to go 13-4 or better this season.

Las Vegas Raiders, 7.0 wins: Under

The Las Vegas Raiders made a ton of moves this offseason and somehow seemingly made things worse. They tried to course-correct on the fly by shifting substantial resources from the offensive line to the defense. While I like the players they added, such as Yannick Ngakoue, you now have to question how Derek Carr and the offense will be adversely affected. When you also factor in the growing depth of the AFC West, the silver and black are likely going to have a tough go of it in the 2021 season.

Los Angeles Chargers, 9.5 wins: Over

Justin Herbert lit the world on fire in his rookie season as he came up huge with the Chargers, even if it didn’t result in a playoff berth. But Los Angeles had a strong overall offseason, most notably finally shoring up the offensive line, a problem that preceded Herbert, with Corey Linsley and Rashawn Slater.

If the Chargers can stay healthy, particularly with players like Derwin James on defense, this team has the goods to vie for a playoff spot, which would mean they finish with double-digit wins and hit the over here.
