NFL teams that should make a change down the line

Carolina Panthers

Carolina gets a small pass because they did tweak their look in 2012. However, their uniforms remain largely unchanged since the franchise’s creation in 1995. This could be one of those times where if it ain’t broke, then don’t fix it. Those Carolina Blue jerseys remain undefeated (in looks, not in actual games), and no one seems to be complaining about the rest of the uniform set.

The sleeve design seems a tad outdated, though the simple yet bold numbers should remain. I just wonder at what point owner David Tepper, who bought the team in 2018, decides to usher in a new era with a new look. Maybe a change could occur when the team finally finds their new franchise quarterback.

Philadelphia Eagles

This may be controversial, but I’m not a fan of the Eagles’ uniforms. The typeface used on the uniforms is reminiscent of a wacky font I used to use in my Appleworks projects growing up. (Look it up, kids.) As teams move away from outlined, serif-based typefaces, it’s time Philadelphia did the same. This may be a tougher case to make since the Eagles have had a good amount of success since they adopted this look in the late 90s.

Would anyone be opposed to a fresh take on those famous Kelly Green uniforms? Keeping the modern design in exchange for a lighter shade of green would be cool, though it may not be realistic. If anything, simplifying the current design would be a solid step. To any Eagles fans’ who scoff at this suggestion, maybe this will idea will grow on you in a few years, especially if this rebuild doesn’t pan out.
