1. Dallas Cowboys

Did you expect anyone else? Like with New York, the allure of being in Dallas may be enough to draw HBO to the Cowboys, if no other team volunteers. After all, this is the Cowboys we’re talking about. This wouldn’t be the team’s first rodeo with Hard Knocks, either. They had runs on the show in 2002 and 2008, though this time around would be much different.

The big headline would almost certainly be superstar quarterback Dak Prescott’s return from a gruesome season-ending leg injury. (What’s will all these injuries?) After enduring a year of recovery and multiple years of doubters, a documentary on Prescott alone may be riveting enough television.

It also helps to have a whole staple of other stars, such as Ezekiel Elliott, Amari Cooper, Tyron Smith and Zack Martin. Notice a theme? The Cowboys clearly did, as evident by their first two-draft choices: Linebacker Micah Parsons and cornerback Kelvin Joseph. Look, you can think whatever you want about this team, but a Hard Knocks in “Jerry World” may send ratings through the roof.

Pair that with second-year head coach Mike McCarthy hoping to rebound from a 6-10 season, and this could be a fantastic season. A Texas-themed season may be just what the show needs to return to its glory days.
