Worst NFL offseason move for each of the 32 teams

New York Jets: Overvaluing Zach Wilson
Zach Wilson could end up being a very good quarterback in the NFL. There’s no denying that the BYU product was one of the top prospects at the position and it was also a foregone conclusion that he would be taken in the top-10.
But as the draft got closer, the New York Jets had made it clear that they were ready to make Wilson the face of their franchise. In a normal season, it would have been understandable for him to go second considering he went for 3,692 yards with 33 touchdowns and only three picks in his final season. However, this was no normal season.
This year, there were several big stars at the position headlined by Trevor Lawrence who everyone knew was going to be the No. 1 overall pick. After that, there was Wilson, Justin Fields, Trey Lance, and Mac Jones.
While Wilson deserved to be mentioned among those talented players, it was also just as easy to argue that both Trey Lance and Justin Fields were more talented prospects — especially Fields who is really the only player who deserved to be compared to Lawrence at all. They also seem better equipped to handle the pressures that will come with facing the New York media.
To be fair to the Jets, scouting quarterbacks is incredibly difficult and the draft itself is an inexact science. But it feels as though they were one of many teams to overthink things and rate a player ahead of Fields when they shouldn’t have been.
