For the first time in more than a decade, Madden NFL will feature two players on the cover: Patrick Mahomes and Tom Brady.

Both Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes are among the NFL‘s best players, and both are worthy of being on a video game cover like Madden. So when the game released their teaser of two goats, it indicated that potentially both players could be on the cover, and sure enough, the news became official on Thursday that both would grace the cover of Madden 22.

Several other players were worthy of gracing the cover, including Tennessee Titans running back Derrick Henry, who ran for over 2,000 yards this past season. However, given the significance of these two athletes and what they have accomplished in their careers, choosing one over the other is a difficult process unless you are a die-hard fanatic of one.

This past season, both quarterbacks met twice. The first meeting belonged to the Chiefs 27-24, and ultimately, they clashed in Super Bowl LV, and that time, Brady not only won the game but won convincingly 31-9 and walked away with Super Bowl MVP honors while Mahomes was ushered off the field in a shower of confetti.

Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes are worthy of gracing the cover of Madden 22; their resumes are impeccable.

This accomplishment is quite significant for the Buccaneers as they never had a player in their franchise grace the cover of Madden. Kansas City had Patrick Mahomes a couple of seasons earlier, while Brady had already been the cover of Madden 18.

Meanwhile, for Tampa, of the last six editions of Madden, four times they featured a player that currently plays for their franchise. Rob Gronkowski, Brady, and Antonio Brown, all of whom made significant contributions in the Super Bowl.

There is the notion of a curse; however that Madden cover athletes tend to endure, and more often than not, it has happened. However, instead of focusing on negativity, we should be honored to see two legends be on the cover of this video game. Granted, both fanbases will undoubtedly engage in heated debates as to why their guy should be the only player, but the best way to settle that is on the field itself.
