5. Hunter Long, Miami Dolphins

Boston College’s Hunter Long turned in an impressive 2020 campaign, one in which he was more heavily involved in the offense; in previous years, he began turning heads on occasional big plays downfield.

Long led all FBS tight ends in receptions (57) last season, and only Kyle Pitts (770) racked up more receiving yards than Long (685). That, in itself, is an impressive feat given the rhetoric surrounding the No. 4 overall pick.

Later on in the draft, the Exeter, NH native was selected by the Miami Dolphins with the 81st overall pick in Round 3 and slides in behind Mike Gesicki on the depth chart.

We don’t expect to see Long’s number called often in 2021, but he’s an intriguing flyer in dynasty fantasy football leagues, given that Gesicki is currently positioned to be an unrestricted free agent at the end of the 2021 season.

Until then, a multitude of mouths to feed in Miami should keep Long on benches and taxi squads in the deepest of dynasty leagues. Keep him on your waiver wire radar in the meantime.
