NFL History: 30 players fans loved to loathe: 16. Chad Johnson

Getting into the end zone during an NFL game is never easy. But when it does happen, players get creative with their celebrations. But while most of it is viewed as innocent fun, Chad Johnson always found a way to get under the skin of fans in every arena he walked into.

At one point during his prime, Johnson recorded six straight seasons of over 1,000 receiving yards. Believing that Canton was his next destination once he hung up his cleats, during a Monday night football game after scoring a touchdown, Johnson wore a fake Hall of Fame jacket. In another instance, Johnson pulled out a dollar bill in an attempt to bribe the referees in a joking manner while they were reviewing a call.

Johnson was so creative in fact, that he actually legally changed his last name to his jersey number in Spanish, OchoCinco. He may have gotten plenty of laughs but fan bases around the league hated him, mostly because he was so good and ridiculously clever whenever he torched them for big games. Recently, after retiring from football for years, Johnson has turned to professional boxing. By all accounts, he performed really well against Brian Maxwell in his recent ring debut, outside of getting floored in the fourth round.
