NFL History: 30 players fans loved to loathe: 28. Richard Sherman

Richard Sherman trash-talked everybody. It didn’t matter if you were on defense, offense or even on his same team, if he thought you were a sorry player, he made sure you knew.

During the peak of his powers with the “Legion of Boom” with the Seattle Seahawks, Sherman came at everybody. Opposing fans hated seeing Sherman on their best wide receiver. The reason being is that said receiver was bound to have a bad day at the office.

Sherman beefed with just about everybody. Several years ago when Hall of Fame shutdown corner Darelle Revis wasn’t too far removed from the game, Sherman went back and forth with him as he claimed he was the better player. Being teammates with Sherman didn’t mean you were safe from his trash talk. A young Russell Wilson was said to be picked off by Sherman during practice on numerous occasions. He then went on to dog Wilson all practice long according to reports.

On the football field, fans took out their frustrations on Sherman and booed him mercilessly whenever they could but for Trent Williams, that wasn’t enough. After sitting back and listening to Sherman all night long, Williams stepped to Sherman following a game between the Seahawks and the Washington Football Team. Williams then proceeded to do what many have wanted to as he punched Sherman right in the face. Ironically enough, the two would eventually become teammates.
