Some players were so phenomenal during their careers they can only be described as legends. Here we pick one such player to return to each NFL team in 2021.

The offseason is all about improving your team in hopes that you can compete in the coming season. And for all 32 teams in the NFL, they’re hopeful that they’re in a better position heading into 2021 after all the work they did in both free agency and the NFL Draft.

But that doesn’t mean they wouldn’t be willing to add one legendary player from their past to their current roster.

Here we look to do just that for each team in the league as we select one former star from the past to add to their 2021 team.

Arizona Cardinals: Aeneas Williams

There was a long stretch of time where the Arizona Cardinals were a struggling franchise and Aeneas Williams was with that team for many of those years. Chosen 59th overall in the third round of the 1991 NFL Draft out of Southern, Williams joined the Cardinals when they were still known as the Phoenix Cardinals. He spent the next 10 seasons playing for the franchise and made the Pro Bowl four times in that span while also being named to the All-Pro First-Team twice and the Second-Team once.

Williams had a nose for the football and recorded six interceptions as a rookie which was just a glimpse of what he could do. He finished his career with 55 interceptions, 46 of which came during his time in Arizona.

He spent his final four seasons with the St. Louis Rams where he made the playoffs three times — after making only one postseason trip during his time with the Cards. He was still playing at an elite level for the Rams even though he was already 33 when they joined him.

Heading into 2021, Arizona is trying to improve upon their defense and adding a shutdown corner of Williams’ caliber would be a huge benefit to them.
