Seattle Seahawks: Walter Jones, Offensive Tackle

There was some drama this offseason for the Seattle Seahawks as reports suggested Russell Wilson was unhappy with the organization for not adequately building up their offensive line. They picked up Gabe Jackson which will help, but not as much as bringing back Walter Jones would.

The No. 6 overall pick in 1997, Jones spent 12 seasons in Seattle. He was called the best player in Seahawks’ history by Corbin Smith of Seahawks Maven, edging out other Hall of Fame stars such as Steve Largent, Cortez Kennedy, and Kenny Easley (who would all also help the 2021 Seattle team immensely).

"“Strong arguments can be made for Largent, Easley, and Kennedy, who all reside in Canton as members of the Pro Football Hall of Fame, to stake claim to this top spot. But while all three of those players had outstanding careers, none of them achieved the greatness of Jones, who belongs in the discussion as one of the greatest players to play in the NFL regardless of position.” — Smith, Seahawk Maven"

Adding Jones would vastly improve the line and there’s no doubt that Wilson would be much happier with the team if he had a nine-time Pro Bowler and Hall of Famer in front of him.
