The NFL relaxed its rule on helmets (finally) so we will see some alternates in 2022. Here are the six that fans can’t wait to see back on the field.

It’s finally happening. The NFL is rescinding its one-helmet rule and allowing teams to wear up to two helmets per season beginning in the year 2022.

Once they made their decision official, the league discussed different rule for safety which includes the players being able to practice in the helmet and have special fittings.

For us fans, the main concern is which great throwbacks will we get to see once more. With many to choose from, it was hard to narrow it down but here are the six throwback helmets fans can’t wait to see.

6. Denver Broncos

Back in the 1990s, the Denver Broncos were a lot of fun to watch thanks to the presence of John Elway — a quarterback with a rocket arm. While most fans really appreciated what he was doing on the field, not all truly appreciated what the team was wearing.

Denver sported a great look known as the “Orange Crush” which was a perfect name. The color scheme with that orange and brown was perfect and the logo was one of the best in the league.

It was a simple orange ‘D’ that matched the uniforms with a horse bursting through. The Broncos do still bring this logo back, which is great, but the shade of blue isn’t the same and that means the entire throwback hasn’t been in use for several years.

That makes this one of the styles we need to see back in 2022.
