5. Tennessee Titans

From 1960 through 1996m the Tennessee Titans organization was known as the Houston Oilers. They moved to Nashville in 1997 and for the first two seasons there, they were known as the Tennessee Oilers.

Eventually, the nickname was changed to something that would associate them more with their current home than the one they left. But sadly, that also meant they were about to say goodbye to one of the best-looking uniforms in the game.

While it’s understandable that the Titans don’t want an oil rig on their helmet, this was still a hard thing for some of us to get used to. Of course, there’s nothing wrong with what they wear now, but recently they switched to a blue helmet which meant we weren’t going to be seeing the throwbacks unless the league changed its stance.

Thankfully, that’s happened and we can now watch Derrick Henry, Julio Jones, and A.J. Brown wear the same uniform that icons such as Warren Moon, Earl Campbell, Steve McNair, and Eddie George have worn.

Personally, I would like to see this color scheme utilized full-time by the team, or maybe given to the Houston Texans if they don’t want it. But at least we can get a glimpse of this up to two times per season now thanks to the change.
