4. New England Patriots

I have been accused of being too hard on the New England Patriots for their current uniforms. Yes, they cleaned them up and they’re way better in 2021 than they were from 1993 through 2020 but they still aren’t anything to get too excited over.

That’s a sad thing too since they’re easily the best franchise over the past 20 years. Sure, they are trending in the wrong direction since Tom Brady packed his bags and moved to Florida, but they’re still a team with six recent Lombardi Trophies and the best coach in the modern era in Bill Belichick.

What makes their uniforms even more painful to look at is knowing how amazing they can be. The style that they wore from 1960 through 1992 was simply a thing of beauty. It was more simple than the designs that followed — especially the one when they had that hideous flying Elvis on the shoulders that poor Drew Bledsoe had to wear. Oh, and then Drew got stuck wearing the worst rendition of the Bills jersey as well after his time in New England, that poor dude couldn’t catch a uniform break to save his life.

The red uniform from the days of old just popped and the simple blue and white stripes were great. But the best part was the white helmet with “Pat Patriot” preparing to spike the ball. That’s going to be a great sight to see once again on the television set without having to fire up Madden Football.
