2. CeeDee Lamb will go for 1,500 yards receiving

When Dak Prescott was on the field, the Dallas Cowboys offense was insane. Their defense forced them to be in order to stay in games — and they were still losing — but the numbers were staggering.

Rookie CeeDee Lamb was enjoying the way the offense was clicking as well, recording 354 yards in those first five games — twice topping the 100-yard mark. But with Prescott out, he had to deal with a lot of uncertainty as Andy Dalton, Ben DiNucci, and Garrett Gilbert all took turns under center.

Lamb never again topped the 100-yard mark with the reserves and while his season ended with a respectable line (74 receptions for 935 yards and five touchdowns) it could have been much more if Prescott remained healthy. Had he stayed on the pace he was playing at (70.8 yards per game 0.4 touchdowns per game) with Dak, he would have had 1,133 yards and six touchdowns as a rookie.

That’s great for any rookie but when you realize Amari Cooper and Michael Gallup are also out there getting targets, it’s simply amazing.

Looking ahead to 2021, Lamb should be able to do even more and this bold prediction is that he overtakes Cooper as the No. 1 receiver in Big D and goes for over 1,500 yards. Now, that’s not meant as a knock on Cooper in any way, but just a testament to the talent Lamb has.
