3. The Netherlands – NFL Franchise Comparison: Indianapolis Colts

Next game: vs. Czech Republic, Sunday, June 27

The Netherlands have a proud history and their club teams in the league have long been a production center for some of the most talented players over the last 30 years. However, their international team has had peaks and valleys and have never consistently been at the very top of world football.

Since reaching the World Cup Final in 2010, the Netherlands have not had the same level of performance. They are hoping to turn that around at EURO 2020.

After topping their group, they will enter the knockout round with lots of confidence in their ability. Their best offensive player, Memphis Depay, will be moving to Barcelona at the end of the tournament. Their squad is full of hungry young players looking to make an impact. They finished top of their group, and they have looked potent on offense.

While they do not have a stable, impenetrable defense, they work hard and will be a difficult team for others to break down. Paired with their use of wide areas in attack and incisive play when needed, the Netherlands are a decent bet to win the whole tournament with their draw in the last 16.

Fans who will most likely see their team represented in the Netherlands are Indianapolis Colts fans. With a storied history in the sport and a lull in their competitive status over the last few years, the Colts have a new dynamic squad and are optimistic for the coming season.

With a good squad built up as well as the addition of Carson Wentz at quarterback, fans expect good things from the Colts in the new season. The Netherlands provide a mirror of their team in the EUROs and they should cheer on the Flying Dutchmen in their upcoming game.
