Jacksonville Jaguars: K’Lavon Chaisson, EDGE

Last year, the Jacksonville Jaguars were just a bad team. They ended up with the No. 1 overall pick for a reason, which was used to add Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence. Now, Lawrence has a lot of pressure on him as the Jaguars are going to ask him to save their franchise.

It won’t be easy for him but at least he won’t be alone. Jacksonville has had more than their fair share of first-round picks in recent years. That includes two in 2020 which were both used on defenders.

First was C.J. Henderson, the cornerback from Florida. Their second pick, which came at No. 20, was used to bring in LSU pass rusher K’Lavon Chaisson. A physical freak for the Tigers, Chaisson was nearly non-existent as a rookie.

He finished with only one sack on the season and had 12 quarterback pressures. Of course, not all of the issues were on him. As it was stated earlier, the team as a whole was an absolute mess. They now hope the added talent, as well as a new coaching staff (again), could help turn things around.

Defensive coordinator Joe Cullen has been on record saying the team will attack much more than they did in 2020 and that could play right into the hands of Chaisson who has the explosive abilities needed to make an impact as a pass-rusher.
