Buffalo Bills: Gabriel Davis, Wide Receiver
Quarterback Josh Allen ended up being the breakout star for the Buffalo Bills last season when he went from a young quarterback with some questions about his game to being an MVP candidate. Allen didn’t win the award but he did receive votes after throwing for 4,544 yards with 37 touchdowns and just 10 picks.
One of the biggest reasons for his ascension was the arrival of Stefon Diggs who was added in the offseason when Buffalo made a trade with the Minnesota Vikings. Diggs finished with 127 receptions for 1,535 yards and now has another veteran wideout joining him in Emmanuel Sanders.
The only question is whether or not they needed Sanders. Buffalo already had Diggs and Cole Beasley and saw rookie Gabriel Davis play well in his first season in the NFL. Davis, a fourth-round pick from Central Florida gave the Bills some much-needed size at 6-foot-2 and 216-pounds and made the most of his opportunities by bringing in 35 passes for 599 yards and seven touchdowns.
It’s not a stretch to think he can win the No. 2 job opposite Diggs and if he does, he could see his targets increase — and in turn, so too would his numbers. He won’t be challenging Diggs for the top spot, but Davis could become a household name that makes defenses pay for focusing too much on his veteran counterpart.
