NFL Uniform No. 3: New England Patriots – Patriot Pat
Long before they were a six-time Super Bowl-winning franchise, the New England Patriots were essentially best-known throughout the league for only one thing: Patriot Pat.
For those that don’t know, Patriot Pat is the longtime mascot of the New England Patriots. Now represented by a sleek minimalistic representation on their silver helmets, Pat used to be a great artistic rendering of a Continental soldier in a three-point stance plastered on all white helmets.
In addition to the logo and white helmets, the Patriots wore them with bright red, white, and blue jerseys. Like the Eagles, many fans still rock the old red, white, and blue at games today but it’s been several years since we’ve seen them on the field.
With a team that seems to have lost their winning ways, it may be time for the Patriots to bring out Patriot Pat for a rallying cry, or at least to appease the New England fans who aren’t used to single-digit win seasons.
