NFL set to return to semi-normal with stadiums set for full capacity
After a season with limited capacity or empty stadiums, we’ll see the NFL start to return to normal in 2021 as fans can fill up venues.
Whether you were sitting at home watching on TV or were among the limited fans who could attend NFL games in the 2020 season, if you missed the huge roars of the crowd, then there’s good news for you. All 32 NFL stadiums will be operating at full capacity on Sundays (and Thursdays and Mondays) in the 2021 season.
On Tuesday, the Indianapolis Colts became the final team in the league for their local government to approve full capacity for their home games in the 2021 season. As of May, the Colts and Denver Broncos were the two teams whose governments had not come to that decision yet but, in the little over a month since, both have gained approval.
Throughout the offseason, we’ve started to see instances of things starting to cover around the league from the completely altered 2020 season. Whether that was attendance at the 2021 NFL Draft, live reporters at training camp, different protocols for vaccinated players or something else, things are starting to get back to normal.
The NFL is working to get back to normal but it’s still not all the way there.
Despite a stark change in direction towards getting things back to normal, things will still be a bit different than they would’ve been in 2019 or previously.
Full capacity stadiums will be great but it’s hard to believe there won’t be some restrictions required, whether that is masks, temperature checks or something else, at some of the stadiums across the United States as COVID-19 continues to have an unfortunate presence.
Even still, getting back to full capacity crowds will be a welcomed sound for fans and players alike. So we should be thankful that we’re getting as much in whatever form we get it. And it’s just another reason to be excited that football is just over two months away from returning.
