30 best NFL players to win a Super Bowl with 2 or more teams:16. Wilber Marshall

Stats:

  • 1,020 tackles
  • 45 sacks

At one point, Wilber Marshall was one of the league’s best defenders. The work he put in as a member of the famed 1985 Chicago Bears is seldom brought up but it shouldn’t be forgotten. Marshall was a hard hitter and tended to score both game-ending sacks and game-changing interceptions.

By his third full year in the league, he was selected to back-to-back Pro Bowls. But just when everyone thought he was going to be an annual member and perpetual Defensive Player of the Year candidate, he simply fell off. He didn’t battle many injuries but for four straight seasons, he wasn’t selected to the Pro Bowl squad.

In 1992, he picked up his play and finally made his return to the team. He was also selected to his second All-Pro team. While he never turned into the Hall of Fame linebacker that many were expecting, Marshall ultimately had a very good career. He was chosen to three Pro Bowls, two All-Pros, was a two-time Super Bowl Champ, his contributions to those teams, however, were vastly different.

On that famed 1985 Chicago Bears team, Wilber Managed to register only three tackles and half a sack. He played a much bigger role six years later on a Super Bowl winning Washington Football Team. Wilber registered four sacks in three games to help lift the Lomabardi.

Currently, his 1,043 career tackles rank 72nd all-time. Not overly impressive but he deserves far more credit than he normally gets.
