30 best NFL players to win a Super Bowl with 2 or more teams: 10. Richard Dent

Stats:

  • 671 tackles
  • 137.5 sacks

The 1985 Chicago Bears are universally considered one of the greatest teams in NFL history. No matter how great the offense was with all-timer Walter Payton running the rock, it was their defense that was lights out. Amongst those ridiculously great defenders was the supremely underrated defensive end, Richard Dent.

During the Bears historical 15-1 season that ended in a Super Bowl win, Dent was probably their best and most important defender as he led the league in sacks with 17. For eight seasons Dent was a double-figure sack guy and currently, the 137.5 he ultimately finished with, rank 10th on the all-time list.

Dent was relentless on his way to the quarterback and although he only has four Pro Bowl appearances and one All-Pro, he was always amongst the best in the league. In short, there was no blocking Dent in one on one coverage.

He may have been a shell of his former self in 1994 as his new team, the San Francisco 49ers, took home the Super Bowl with little to no contributions from him, but still, Dent was an all-time great who was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2011.
