30 best NFL players to win a Super Bowl with 2 or more teams: 9. Ken Norton Jr.

Stats:

  • 1,272 tackles
  • 12.5 sacks

The career of Ken Norton Jr. is massively underrated. His start in the league wasn’t exactly picture-perfect. During his rookie season, he spent most of his time on the bench, playing in only three games. The lack of field time, unsurprisingly, made Norton Jr. an ineffective player. He didn’t register a single sack or tackle.

But, by the time his sophomore season came rolling by, Norton Jr. flipped a switch. He became a full-time starter for the Dallas Cowboys and was never benched again, no matter what team he was on. During his final two years in the lone star state, Norton Jr. was a part of two Super Bowl winning teams and in his final year, he was selected to his first Pro Bowl after registering a career-high 159 tackles.

Norton Jr. saw his time in Dallas come to end after his second title but that doesn’t mean he stopped winning at his next destination. He immediately helped the San Francisco 49ers win the Super Bowl in his first year with the team in 1994.

The individual accolades didn’t exactly pile up as he made only three total Pro Bowl teams and was selected to just one All-Pro squad. Still, Norton Jr. was consistent and the numbers at the end of his career pointed to that. Even without a Hall of Fame nod, Norton Jr. currently ranks 20th all-time in career tackles with 1,272. He was simply a solid player for a really long time.
